Abstract: | The study examines electronic governance and public administration in southern Nigeria. The advancement in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has added a new dimension to effective administration globally. Standard deviation was used to analyze data. The study discovered that e-governance and e-administration can lead to cost savings for government organizations because it eliminates the need for physical infrastructure, decreases the use of paper, and optimizes resource utilization. The study went on to say that although electronic governance could be a way for public administration to solve some of its problems, particularly with public policymaking, the government doesn't have the resources to make it work to its full potential because of low literacy rates. The study's recommendations include making sure the government has the money to enforce e-governance effectively and having strong political will and commitment to make sure the initiative succeeds in Nigeria. |
